We welcomed Kalamata to the Blue Municipalities Network!

The 15th member and the first municipality in the Peloponnese to become a member of the Blue Municipalities Network along with our first big field operation of 2022. Five years later we returned to the area to inaugurate our new Marine Litter Collection Station completing a series of holistic interventions.

Although the underwater visibility was extremely limited, the port proved to be particularly congested once more. At the same time, we visited two other areas in order to assess the burden of the seabed from litter.

The presence and encouragement of hundreds of citizens who attended our efforts but also the excellent cooperation with the local authorities who contributed to starting our new year in the best possible way were the optimistic messages of the season!
