Familiar images but also a hopeful message from Paros!

We returned back to Paros for the 4th time for the biggest inititaive ever organized in a Greek island. About 100 volunteers from Athens operated in different parts of the island, focusing on the ports of Parikia and Naoussa. Several foreign visitors to the island also joined us.

Even this time the images were disappointing, while on a beach of the island where we carried out measurements we came across the largest concentration of microplastics we have ever witnessed. The only hopeful message is the conclusion that after 4 actions in the island we are close to the significant depollution of the ports!
