Another visit to the Porto Rafti area for the protection of the Posidonia meadows! We were on site along with representatives from Teleperformance group, which supports the program, the Hellenic Center for Marine Research (HCMR), the municipal authorities and the port authority we collaborate with, as well as media representatives who observed the work we carried out.
In this context, we had the opportunity to provide them with a broader update on the progress of the program, the completion of the needs assessment phase, mapping, and ground truthing process. Since we have completed the first of the four phases of the program, we are steadily moving on to the next steps, which include informing the local community and installing moorings to protect the area where the relevant interventions will take place. The final phase involves efforts to restore the underwater environment.
There is no doubt that this is a particularly ambitious project, but our goal of making it a model for the other members of the Blue Municipalities Network, along with the active participation of all our partners, gives us optimism and determination!
