We celebrated 7 years of implementing 100 initiatives all over Greece

Our organization celebrated its 7th anniversary by completing 100 initiatives across Greece, a significant milestone commemorated with special activities on the island of Lefkada. A total of 25 volunteers from Aegean Rebreath, along with 40 volunteers from the international group Ergo Hellas and our partners from the Lefkas Diving Center, participated in our widespread activities that were implemented to another member of the Blue Municipalities Network. Our initiative was covered by the Spanish News Agency and broadcasted in many countries in Central and South America, showcasing our efforts internationally.

This mission to Lefkada was the 6th on the island and is part of our efforts for cleaning up the eastern side of the island. Noteworthy was the presence of both the former and current mayors of Lefkada in the field, emphasizing the common commitment of local communities to tackle marine pollution.

Our 100th action marks an emotional moment for our volunteers, reminiscing about a journey that started 7 years ago and included over 45 destinations across Greece. These actions were made possible by the invaluable contribution of volunteers, both those who were with us in the past and those who continue to support us today. One hundred actions based on collaboration with local communities and authorities, as well as the engagement of the private sector, have resulted in the near-complete relief of ports and reefs in many areas of the country. Our organization remains dedicated to its mission, firmly believing that no change can be achieved without being active in the field!
