Aegean Rebreath in the Economist Summit

We had the great opportunity to present our positions and our work concerning the circular economy in the “Sixth Sustainability Summit for south-east Europe and the Mediterranean” organized by Economist. Sixth Summit on Sustainability for Southeast Europe and the Mediterranean” organized by the Economist. senior executives of the European Commission and the Greek government attended the panel who presented developments at the European and national level.

In this context, the president of Aegean Rebreath Giorgos Sarelakos presented the Blue Municipalities Network and the network of the Marine Litter Collection Stations and emphasized the importance of further exploiting these two successful practices. At the same time, he had the opportunity to present two successful projects, implemented by Aegean Rebreath in collaboration with local authorities and the companies BAT Hellas and Pepsico Hellas, as successful models that could provide orientations towards the enhancement of the circular economy.

Moreover, during the discussion our organization shared 5 proposals that could further strengthen the role of the circular economy while emphasizing that the stagnation and the obstacles in this field of circular economy remain large and visible.
