We moved forward with the tap water campaign together with EYATH

Our database shows that 72% of marine litter is plastic and 25% of that is plastic bottles. This is a major problem as well as particularly noticeable in the Greek islands during the summer months. Therefore, together with EYATH, we moved forward with another campaign on tap water in the city of Thessaloniki.

Following the cooperation we have developed and our previous implemented activities, we proceeded with the installation of two booths in central parts of Thessaloniki and Kalamaria area with the aim of informing consumers about the problem of marine pollution that is fully linked with the use of tap water. At the same time, 2,000 reusable bottles and 350 bags made by recycled water bottles were given to citizens who visited the kiosks, 320 questionnaires were completed while informative leaflets were sent along with 88,000 water bills.

We received many visitors that showed great interest about the initiative. The results of the questionnaires will be analyzed, while we will continue our cooperation with EYATH since our aim is to develop even more targeted interventions.
